(SPOT.ph) Typhoon Ulysses devastated cities all over Luzon on November 11 and 12 and one of the most hard-hit areas was Marikina with water levels in the Marikina River reaching heights that exceeded the effects of 2009's Typhoon Ondoy and many residents were left stranded or with broken homes and belongings. If you're looking for ways to help typhoon victims, we have a list of places accepting donations. Another way to help out is by donating money and relief goods that will directly be used to help Marikina shoemakers. Marikina's well-known footwear industry employs "an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 city residents" according to a 2019 Inquirer report and many were affected by the destructive storm. You can help support the industry and its local workers by donating in cash and in kind through the local brands below.

Stride Collective is a homegrown community of Marikina-made footwear brands coming together to support shoemakers and artisans. They're currently accepting donations in cash and in kind for shoe and bag makers affected by Typhoon Ulysses. They're accepting food packs, hygiene kits, first aid kits, sleeping kits, and other essentials like clothing and flashlights.
