Kaye Abad Reveals Her First Love And BF In Showbiz

Kaye Abad credited her former “Tabing Ilog” co-star John Lloyd Cruz not only as her first boyfriend but also as her “first love.”

Kaye made the revelation in a “Tonight with Boy Abunda” interview.

During the said interview, Abad admitted that Cruz was her first boyfriend and first love saying that it was the actor’s personality that got her attention.

“Nagustuhan ko ‘yung personality niya and he was my first boyfriend. First love,” she said.

Their relationship developed when they worked together in the series “Tabing Ilog”.

She recalled that Cruz used to have no car and she would be the one who would drive him to the set of “Tabing Ilog” even if she lives in a distant province.

Although both Cruz and Abad currently reside in Cebu with their respective partners, she said that the two of them have never crossed paths.

The actress reminisces on their past and recalls the potential she has seen in John Lloyd since the beginning. Kaye knew that John Lloyd will become one of the best actors of their generation.

But she quips that she has already foreseen getting dumped by John Lloyd due to fame. “So nakita ko na sisikat ‘to, iiwan ako nito, magla-love team ‘to ng iba,”, Kaye jests as she looks back on her relationship with John Lloyd.

Abad thought that she was right back then because Cruz did have another on-screen partner and got paired with Bea Alonzo.

The actress also recalled an instance when someone asked her why she was not a godmother to Cruz and Adarna’s baby. Abad jested again by guessing that she may not have been picked since she was known to be “kuripot” (cheap).
