(SPOT.ph) Hole in the Wall announced its closure on Wednesday, November 18, after six years of operating arguably one of the hippest dining halls in Metro Manila at the top floors of the Century City Mall along Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City. This is the latest on the long list of popular city hangout spots that have closed their doors in 2020 as the pandemic continues.

A stone's throw away from the streets of Poblacion, Hole in the Wall was a favorite spot for folks looking for some quality pre- or post-game grub. This was the birthplace of two successful restaurant chains, Bad Bird and Scout’s Honor, and was also responsible for bringing fresh and exciting food concepts to the local food scene. They posted a heartfelt goodbye on their social media pages.

"Hole in The Wall was our most ambitious project at the time," reads the caption. The team behind the dining hall was inspired by the "chef-driven food halls abroad" and it became their mission to create the same space in the nation's capital—one that we can safely say they succeeded at.

"Hole in the Wall was a proof of concept. It showed that a thoughtful, refined approach to dining halls could work here. Seeing similar concepts open after we did made us proud," they wrote. "It felt like the start of a new era for local dining, one that we helped usher in."

Hole in the Wall ended their goodbye with a thank you. "Instead of feeling down, we just feel immense gratitude. We were lucky to stay open as long as we did, thanks to all of you."
