Happy Lemon's New Drinks Are Made With Malagos Chocolate

(SPOT.ph) Chocolate is a practically no-fail flavor, but not all chocolate is the same. Some brands are especially worth noting—among them is Malagos Chocolate, the tree-to-bar brand of chocolate made from cacao from Davao, which results in an especially robust and complex flavor profile. They've even gained international recognition and won awards many times with their great-tasting products, including their award-winning cheese. If you're a big fan of this proudly Filipino-made chocolate, we've got sweet news. Malagos Chocolate has partnered with milk-tea spot Happy Lemon to come up with new chocolate beverages that you're going to want to try.

For purists, there's the Malagos Chocolate Tablea (P129/regular, P149/jumbo), which highlights Malagos Chocolates' distinctive flavor. But if you're open to enjoying chocolate in a new way—or you're a fan of Happy Lemon's bestselling Cocoa With Rock Salt and Cheese and want to experience it with the chocolate turned up a notch—go for the Malagos Chocolate with Rock Salt & Cheese (P149/regular, P169/jumbo), which has Happy Lemon's signature salty cheese mousse-like topping on the Malagos drink base for a savory contrast. These are the kind of chocolate drinks that you'll want to savor mindfully to best appreciate their topnotch chocolatey profile. Mark your calendars: these drinks will be available starting November 27.

If you're more of a cookie kinda guy or gal, Happy Lemon also recently released the Butter Cookie Creamy Baby (P149/regular, P169/jumbo). This variation of their Creamy Baby milk-tea drink has layers of crushed cookies, rock salt and cheese, milk tea, and puff cream. You'll love the play of tastes and textures in this one—you've got the earthiness of the tea plus the savory rock salt and cheese, plus more creaminess from the puff cream and a hint of crunch from the cookies!

Curious yet? You can try these drinks for yourself—the chocolate drinks starting November 27, and the Butter Cookie Creamy Baby right now—for dine-in and takeout at all Happy Lemon Stores. Can't head out? Don't fret—they're also available for delivery via GrabFood, Foodpanda, and LalaFood.

Happy Lemon is a beverage franchise from Hong Kong. Since opening in 2010, they've become a favorite among Filipinos for their one-of-a-kind drinks. Aside from the said drinks, be sure to make space for their other signatures—try the Panda Pearl Milk Tea with two kinds of pearls for a chewy, creamy treat!

Got the munchies? Pair these drinks with katsu and you're all set! Some of our favorites in Manila are the versions by Yabu and Maisen Tonkatsu.

Yabu's katsu is consistently crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. Every. Single. Time.

Don't miss Maisen's thick and uber-juicy Kurobuta Katsu either!
