(SPOT.ph) It is the calm before the storm, as people online are dubbing the rare experience we were all treated to right on hallow's eve: a blue moon. So the moon doesn't actually turn blue, it is just the term given to the second full moon that happens in the span of one month—something that happens once every 2.5 to three years, a.k.a. "once in a blue moon." For the blue moon to line up exactly with Halloween though, is even rarer. Reports say the last time the two events lined up across timezones was in 1944!
The next time this is expected to happen again will be in 2039, nearly two whole decades from now. In case you missed it last night—which we totally understand, seeing as typhoon Rolly is coming in—we round up some of the coolest shots we saw on the Internet.
