From the writing and directing duo of Gene Gallerano and William Pisciotta comes The Yeti, which Well Go USA Entertainment will be giving a digital and limited theatrical release on April 10th. We don’t have long to wait before that date arrives – and in the meantime, a trailer for the film has dropped online. You can check it out in the embed above.
Cast and Synopsis
The Yeti tells the following story: Merriell Sunday Sr. and Hollis Bannister vanished in Alaska. Ellie and Merriell Jr. mount a search, but an ancient threat stalks their expedition into the wilderness, hunting them as they seek the truth behind the disappearances.
Brittany Allen (Dexter: Original Sin), Eric Nelsen (1883), Jim Cummings (The Last Stop in Yuma County), Christina Bennett Lind (The Lonely Man with the Ghost Machine), and Linc Hand (42) star with William Sadler (Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight) and Corbin Bernsen (Major League).
Johnathan Brownlee and Ross Meyerson produced the film, with Jim Cummings, Michael Izquierdo, PJ McCabe, William Pisciotta, and Kira Wahlstrom serving as executive producers. Frank Coppola and Romano Natale were co-producers, with Michael Izquierdo, Corey Ronald Walter, and Kaelyn Walter associate producing.
This marks the feature directorial debut of Gene Gallerano and William Pisciotta.
Other Yetis
It should be noted that The Yeti is an entirely separate project from the survival thriller Yeti that was announced ten months ago, with The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Conjuring: Last Rites director Michael Chaves attached to direct. It is also, unfortunately, entirely separate from the Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal yeti projects that were in development years ago.
What did you think of the trailer for The Yeti? Does this look like something you’d be interested in watching this April? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
It will be interesting to see what sort of tone the movie has for the majority of its running time, because the trailer has a blend of serious moments combined with a goofiness reminiscent of Grindhouse faux trailers. I still live in hope that I’m going to get to see Jean-Claude Van Damme fight a yeti someday, but this movie will hold me over in the meantime.
