A particularly furry bounty hunter from The Book of Boba Fett series, Black Krrsantan, has a surprising connection to Obi-Wan Kenobi, opening up a strong possibility of the character appearing in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Black Krrsantan made his live-action debut in The Book of Boba Fett, being featured as the fearsome muscle to the Hutt duo known as The Twins. However, the Wookiee bounty hunter originates from Marvel's 2015 comic series, Star Wars: Darth Vader.
Sometime between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, Black Krrsantan was tasked with hunting down Obi-Wan after the Jedi Master disrupted Jabba the Hutt's callous water tax plans, as seen in Marvel's 2015 Star Wars #15. Later, the two even had a duel in Star Wars #20, inciting a likely chance that viewers will get to see the return of Black Krrsantan on-screen.
Initially, Black Krrsantan had captured Owen Lars as part of his plan. Soon enough, though, Obi-Wan showed up to put a stop to things and warned the Wookiee to leave before anything got started. Not one to back down from a fight, Black Krrsantan went straight for Obi-Wan's throat, attempting to kill him and ensnaring him with a stun net.
After failing to deliver the killing blow, Black Krrsantan was dealt a slash from Obi-Wan's lightsaber, which resulted in an eye scar. Feeling the shame of a failed bounty, Black Krrsantan was forced to flee the scene, cutting his ties with Jabba out of fear of retaliation. Given that this storyline has already been made canon and that Black Krrsantan's scar is visible in The Book of Boba Fett, it's highly likely that the sequence will be shown in live-action.
There's also something to be said about the parallels between the aggressive water tax issues being put into place in both the 2015 Marvel Star Wars comic and The Book of Boba Fett. In a similar fashion to the way that Obi-Wan put a stop to barbarous water taxes put into place by Jabba, Boba Fett halted the inhumane prices put on water by a greedy watermonger in "Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa." It's possible that the writers received inspiration for this storyline in The Book of Boba Fett from the comic series and that viewers could see this theme pop up again in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
With The Book of Boba Fett all wrapped up, fans of the Star Wars saga now eagerly look to the long-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is set to span six episodes. Ewan McGregor himself has even stated that the story will "really satisfy Star Wars fans," inciting excitement for the upcoming show set to hit Disney+. While the dropped teaser trailer for the series didn't feature a cameo from the bounty hunter yet, it's certainly plausible that the Star Wars comic book series could serve as a blueprint.
To see if Black Krrsantan makes an appearance, Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on May 25th on Disney+.
