Moon Knight Scene Debuts Ethan Hawke's Villainous Powers | CBR

A new clip from Moon Knight shows off Arthur Harrow's powers in the upcoming Disney+ show.

In the clip, which you can see below, Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) entrusts a mysterious object to Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) and then the two attempt to flee Harrow, played by Ethan Hawke. However, Harrow begins using his powers, which involve him plunging his cane into the ground and creating some sort of hole through which a monster crawls. At this time, it's not totally clear just what Harrow's powers are and how he came to have them.

Created by Alan Zelenetz, Arthur Harrow is a relatively obscure Marvel villain who first appeared in 1985's Moon Knight #2. Harrow was originally a scientist whose ties to unethical experiments at Auschwitz-Birkenau were later exposed. The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Harrow seems to cast him more as a dangerous cult leader and give him powers not present in the comics.

Moon Knight follows Marc Spector, a mercenary who finds himself drawn into a mystery involving the Egyptian gods. Spector, who has Dissociative Identity Disorder, has a number of different alters, including Grant. As a superhero, Spector operates under the name Moon Knight and has a deep connection to Khonshu, the Egyptian moon good. F. Murray Abraham will playing Khonshu in the series.

Moon Knight was originally announced at the D23 conference in 2019. Later, in 2020, Isaac was cast in the lead role. At this time, it's not clear just when Moon Knight will next appear in the MCU. However, there have been persistent reports Mahershala Ali will appear as Blade in Moon Knight. Additionally, there are reports Disney+'s upcoming Marvel Halloween special will feature Werewolf by Night, whose eponymous comic Moon Knight debuted in.

Moon Knight, who was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, first appeared in 1975's Werewolf by Night #32. He later received his own series and has, over the years, served as a key member of such teams as the Avengers and Midnight Sons.

Moon Knight is set for release on March 30. The first season will run for six episodes. At this time, there's no word on whether Moon Knight will receive a second season.
