MCU Leaker Debunks a Major Thor 4 X-Men Cameo Rumor | CBR

It appears Thor: Love and Thunder won't feature a cameo by the X-Men's Storm after all, as a reputable leaker recently debunked the Wind-Rider's rumored appearance in the upcoming film.

Although speculation surrounding the iconic mutant joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been circulating for some time, the original leaker of the rumor has since clarified their knowledge of Storm's involvement in Love and Thunder. Replying to a user on Twitter promoting the rumor, reputable insider Daniel Richtman wrote, "No. Mentioned it as a rumor I heard a year ago and since then I made it clear it's not true."

Ororo Munroe aka Storm isn't the only mutant rumored to appear in an upcoming MCU film. While actor James McAvoy has adamantly denied reprising his role as the younger version of Professor Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, rumors of Patrick Stewart bringing his older version of the X-Men's telepathic leader to the MCU appear slightly more reliable. Multiverse of Madness producer Richie Palmer offered an answer to fans who believe they saw Professor X in the film's latest trailer. "I'll quote the first X-Men movie and say, 'Are you sure you saw what you saw?'" said Palmer. "There are infinite versions of these characters, and just because you may have heard something familiar doesn't mean it's someone you have seen before."

Storm may not be in Love and Thunder, but the film may still feature a Wakandan character in the form of Bastet. The warrior panther goddess, who is said to have aided the first Wakandan in becoming the original Black Panther, will reportedly make an appearance in Thor's next big-screen adventure. Bastet has briefly shown up in Black Panther and Eternals but Love and Thunder could be her first full appearance. If the rumors turn out to be true, she'll be portrayed by Clickbait star Akosia Sabet.

Though the film is only months away from its intended summer release, Love and Thunder is seemingly conducting more reshootsLove and Thunder director Taika Waititi commented on the movie's continued production, saying of the Marvel blockbuster, "It's still not finished. It comes out in July, so probably the end of June. Probably like a day before the premiere. That's how we do it."

Thor: Love and Thunder lands in theaters on July 8.
