10 MCU Roles Finn Wolfhard Would Be Perfect For | CBR

Finn Wolfhard first became widely known for his role as Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things in 2016. Since then he has starred in many other successful films and series, becoming one of the most successful actors of his generation. Given his fame, it isn't uncommon to see his name when it comes to fan-casting, especially in terms of the MCU, since there are dozens of characters he could play.

In February 2022, rumors about him joining the MCU surfaced on the internet. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the news has everyone wondering which roles he could play. There are many theories, but considering Marvel's future projects, the list can be narrowed down to these characters.

10 It's Time To Have Northstar In The MCU

Jean-Paul Beaubier, aka Northstar, is a mutant with photokinesis, which means he's able to create and control light using his body. Thanks to this ability, he can send out concussive blasts in battle as well as fly and propel his body at superhuman speeds.

Granted, mutants aren't in the MCU yet, but now that Patrick Stewart has confirmed his role as Professor Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there's no reason to doubt the X-Men are on their way to the MCU. Finn Wolfhard would make a great Northstar, for instance, in Secret Invasion, fighting Skrulls all over San Francisco alongside his twin sister.

9 If The Inhumans Were To Join The Fight, He Would Be The Perfect Ahura Boltagon

Ahura Boltagon, the son of Black Bolt and Queen Medusa, has more power than can be calculated. In addition to producing a sonic scream and possessing telepathic abilities, he has an "evil eye," which allows him to kill anyone only by looking at them. Considered a threat since he was born, Ahura would make an excellent misunderstood villain turned hero in the MCU.

Introducing Ahura could go a long way in redeeming the 2017 Inhumans fiasco. Although immensely powerful, Ahura is only a kid, so he's sometimes immature. Finn Wolfhard has proved already that he's capable of portraying a naive but determined teenager in Stranger Things so fans just know he would be an excellent Ahura.

8 He Has The Emotional Range To Play Evan Sabahnur

Also known as Kid Apocalypse, Evan Sabahnur is a clone of the powerful mutant Apocalypse, created by Fantomex after stealing some blood from his corpse. Unlike his original, he's a member of the X-Men who has to fight his Apocalypse-like reputation, which hurts him deeply.

In its current state, the MCU isn't that far from introducing the X-Men, but it's definitely a long way from giving the fans an Apocalypse saga. However, if this were to happen, Finn Wolfhard could play Evan Sabahnur. He may be getting older for it, but he could reach this character's emotional intensity with no problem.

7 Hellion Is A Born Leader Like Mike Wheeler

Julian Keller, aka Hellion, is a mutant with telekinetic abilities which allow him to fly, create powerful telekinetic blasts and manipulate things without touching them. Although his family was ashamed of his mutant condition, Hellion never let that stop him and he became a prominent member of Xavier's Institute alongside his peers, the Hellion Squad.

When thinking of the X-Men, it isn't uncommon for the fans to only consider the most mainstream mutants. However, there are many more characters with a compelling story to tell that won't be identical to what we have seen before, such as Hellion. If Disney chooses this path for the MCU X-Men, hopefully, they won't forget Finn Wolfhard has already successfully played a young but determined hero before.

6 WandaVision Fans Are Still Waiting To See Speed

Like his uncle Quicksilver, Thomas Shepherd, also known as Speed, can move at superhuman speeds, which allows him to modify physics around him. In addition to being immune to the effects of friction and walking over water, he can create hyperkinetic vibrations that cause things to explode.

WandaVision introduced Speed and Wiccan as Wanda and Vision's children, which prompted many to believe these two characters were soon to become official heroes in the MCU. However, by the show's finale, they both disappeared without a trace, which left the fans wanting more. Now that many theories indicate Wiccan and Speed will return, Finn Wolfhard could easily play this role.

5 Nova May Appear In Guardians Of The Galaxy

Sam Alexander is the son of Jesse Alexander, a former Nova Centurion. Like his father, Sam possesses a Nova Helmet that grants him access to the Nova Force and gives him abilities such as flight, energy manipulation, and superhuman strength. Trained by Gamora and Rocket Raccoon, he's a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, so it wouldn't be strange if he appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Some consider Finn too old for the role of Nova. After all, Sam Alexander is only 13 when he first becomes Nova. However, considering the humor in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, it wouldn't be strange to have an MCU Nova who is a bit older than he is in the comics.

4 Noh-Varr Is Still Missing From The MCU

Noh-Varr, or Marvel Boy, is a member of the Kree race from Earth-200080 who arrived on Earth-616 by accident when he got lost in the Multiverse. Given his alien DNA, he possesses enhanced physiology that grants him superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes.

Since Noh-Varr has been a member of several Marvel supergroups, there are many ways he could arrive at the MCU. Finn Wolfhard may be a bit skinnier than needed to play Noh-Varr, but he wouldn't be the first MCU actor to change his physical appearance before a role.

3 Most People Agrees He Would Make a Great Nightcrawler

Kurt "Nightcrawler" Wagner is a mutant who can teleport to any place he wants, sometimes taking others with him. He's the abandoned child of Mystique and Azazel, who left him in the Bavarian Alps where he was found by his adoptive family. Since he has blue skin, yellow eyes, and claw-like hands, society constantly rejects him.

His sad story makes Nightcrawler one of the most beloved X-Men. Because of this, many fans want to see him in the MCU soon. If Finn were to play this role, he wouldn't be the first actor to do it. Regardless, his lanky appearance and his knack for dramatic performances would help him stand out among other live-action versions of this mutant.

2 There's Always Space For An Extra Loki Variant

Tall, pale white, and black-haired, Finn Wolfhard looks a lot like a teenage version of Loki, many fans have fan-casted him as the God of Mischief since he first became famous. In fact, since Loki began production, Finn Wolfhard was rumored to play Kid Loki given his likeness to this character, but it wasn't true.

The last time fans saw Loki, he was dealing with the destruction of the sacred timeline alongside many of his variants such as Sylvie, President Loki, Alligator Loki, and Kid Loki. Given that the multiverse cannot be limited, it wouldn't be strange if other Loki variants appeared soon in the MCU. For instance, a teenage Loki in Thor: Love & Thunder.

1 Finn Would Be The Perfect Wiccan

Since his disappearance in WandaVision, fans are eager to know if Billy will return to the MCU as Wiccan, the Young Avengers' powerful sorcerer. Since he was dubbed by Vision as one of the most powerful mages on the planet, it's impossible to believe his time in the MCU is over.

If Finn can't play Speed, there's no problem. The other Maximoff twin is an even better role for this actor. Finn Wolfhard is one of the most famous teenage actors at the moment. It's only logical to consider him to play a role that could become one of the most important characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
