A sequel series to 2010's DreamWorks Animation film Megamind is heading to Peacock.
The new show -- titled Megamind's Guide to Destroying Your City -- sees the eponymous alien supervillain-turned-hero become a social media influencer thanks to his brainbots recording his every move. Original Megamind writers Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons are on board for the sequel series as executive producers, along with Eric Fogel and JD Ryznar, the latter of whom also serves as story editor. It's unclear if any of the original voice cast is returning.
Released in 2010, Megamind stars Will Ferrell as the voice of the blue-skinned, big-headed alien known as Megamind, the arch-enemy of Metro City's resident superhero Metro Man. When Metro Man is seemingly killed, Megamind cuts loose, only to discover his life has no real purpose without a superhero to fight. As such, he decides to create a new superhero but inadvertently gives his super-soldier serum to a cameraman named Hal (Jonah Hill). Hal takes on the name Titan but soon goes mad with power, and after Megamind discovers Metro Man actually faked his own death, it's up to him to save Metro City.
Megamind went on to gross $321.88 million worldwide on a $130 million budget and was received favorably by both critics and fans.
Megamind's Guide to Destroying Your City has yet to receive a premiere date.
