Vice Ganda is not at all happy with Bobet Vidanes leaving “It’s Showtime” rather unceremoniously last year to take on a job at TV5.
Top-rating noontime show “It’s Showtime” remains standing despite the Kapamilya network’s broadcast stoppage after the Congress denied the media giant a franchise renewal last year.
Running for 11 years, it came all too shocking for the program which is slowly getting back on its feet as a blocktimer in the A2Z channel when its main creator and the man behind the curtain, Director Bobet Vidanes, suddenly left the show.
It was late in 2020 when news of Vidanes’ departure from the program came out. According to reports, Vidanes just like a number of former Kapamilya talents has chosen to transfer to TV5 as the network still embattles its fight for their franchise on top of coping with the effects of the ongoing pandemic.
The hosts of the program revealed that they absolutely had no idea what Vidanes’ real reason was for leaving the show. Known for hurling carefree jests in between their spiels, the hosts could not help but throw in some banters that seemed to be alluding to their former director.
It was, however, Vice Ganda admitted in his most recent vlog that he got offended over it.
“Ang plastik pag sinabing hindi ako na-offend!”
Apparently, Vidanes kept his plan to leave the show somewhat a secret, leaving the comedian confused.
“Siyempre, nagulat (ako), nagtaka, nagtanong,” he related.
Ganda disclosed that he tried to reach out to the director but the latter supposedly ignored him.
“Inaya ko siyang mag-ano. Tinext ko siya para usap kami. Para lang maintindihan ko, di ba? Hindi niya ako sinagot.”
He went on, “Nakakagulat lang, parang after 11 years… Ano yun? Ganun-ganun lang? Walang sabi-sabi?”
