The Kapamilya Network, ABS CBN has been known in producing beautiful and talented young actresses for many years now. Many of today’s topbilled actresses such as Kathryn Bernardo, Nadine Lustre and Liza Soberano were some of their home grown talent.

 

 

 

 

But for many regular televiewers, another young talent has recently captured their attention because of her undeniably angelic looks and acting prowess in front of the camera. We’re talking about non other than the gorgeous young daughter of Senator Lito Lapid, Ysabel Ortega.

 

 

 

 

Ysabel started in showbiz at a young age of 16 years old. Her first television project proved to be much challenging than a newbie’s average role. She had to act like she was a 24 year old intoxicated young girl. Fortunately for, her co actors and actresses guide and help her out.

 

 

 

 

Despite of her parents coming from the industry, Ortega never used her showbiz background as advantage to reach her status today. She did several acting workshops and even auditioned for role just like every normal amateur actress went through.

 

 

 

Ysabel’s mother is the former actress/ singer and Assistant Secretary of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Michelle Ortega. Her stepdaughter is the former PNP Director Gregorio Pimentel, who married her mom last January of 2018. In a recent interview, the now 20 year old actress shared that she is already on speaking terms with her biological father Lito Lapid.

 

 

 

It was reported not long ago that Ysabel had a rift with him due to his apparent absence in her life. She also told that she’s close to her stepfather, Gen. Pimentel. According to Ysabel, she very comfortable with him. She also admitted that she was very happy that it was her “Daddy Greg” that ended up with her mom.

 

 

 

After being with ABS CBN for four years, Ysabel made a brave decision to transfer to it’s rival network, GMA7 this year, 2019. Ysabel has nothing but gratitude and kind words to her former home network where she started out her showbiz career. Lapid, himself is a certified Kapamilya. He had a very extensive role and participation in ABS CBN’s “Ang Probinsyano”. Regardless, he has expressed his gladness and support about Ysabel’s shift to the rival station.

 

 

 

 

If there is anything that her celebrity parents taught her on working on showbiz, it is to work hard, love your craft. Her parents also expressed their wishes for Ysabel  to continue her studies. She is currently playing the supportive role Sabina, the sister of the lead character Sep (played by Alden Richards) in the primetime drama series “The Gift”.
